Stephanie's Story

Hello, my name is Stephanie. I’m from Miami, FL. I was first trafficked when I was 16 years old. After that, it was and on and off constant struggle in and out of the game.

I finally got out when I got arrested at 19 for human trafficking (I DID NOT COMMIT THAT CRIME). After spending 14 and a half months in the county jail, I was let out into a program for survivors of human trafficking.

I was very anxious to get my GED, but didn’t have the means of doing so, until I found CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT online. Which was one of the biggest blessings I received thus far. Ms. Ventura has helped, supported and encouraged me throughout this entire journey! They pay everything for you and set up the test dates and even offered to find me a ride there, all the way from California! Words cannot describe how grateful I am for Ms. Ventura and my AWESOME Math tutor Maria!

Thanks to all the encouragement and support from Children of the night, I finally feel like I can accomplish LIFE successfully. I aspire to open and run a spa/salon in the next few years, but first I will be studying phlebotomy, and, thanks to Children of The Night, I will soon be enrolled in COLLEGE. I, for one, HATED school and never in a million years thought I would even be considering such a crazy thing, lol but I can’t wait to get started on my new career path!

Also, as of right now, Diana, who operates the hotline part of the program, is helping with placement to a new transitional house, until I can get on my feet! Overall, this program has really helped me get my life back on track!

BIG THANK YOUS TO EVERYONE WHO IS AT CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!!!!
