On Fridays, residents are taken on supervised trips to points of interest in the Los Angeles area. Recent outings have included: Laker games, L.A. Times tour, a taste of local culture in Little Tokyo and Olvera Street, horseback riding, snowboarding at Mountain High, Shambala Wildlife Preserve, Universal Studios, Sea World, La Brea Tar Pits, Museum of Tolerance, Long Beach Aquarium, Catalina Island, whale watching, the Queen Mary, a rope-climbing course, a tour of Cal State Northridge followed by a swim in the campus pool, plus the circus, the zoo, various amusement and water parks, laser tag, restaurants, movies, and weekly visits to the local library.
