Community Support

Children of the Night has existed since its inception through the sole support of private contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Children of the Night has a broad base of support including churches, schools, record companies, radio stations, celebrities, and even Social Security recipients who donate $15 a month. No contribution is too large or too small. In recent years, Children of the Night has been the beneficiary of numerous wills, trusts, and bequests. Children of the Night maintains a mailing list of 16,000 donors and conducts a successful direct-mail program whereby solicitation letters are mailed six times a year.

	Its program has proven so effective that Children of the Night is in demand to assist other agencies across the country and around the world to develop similar programs.

Private funding means assisting children in need with less bureaucratic red tape. With your support and referrals, our children have an alternative to the streets and a chance for a normal life.

	Based upon the 2006 audited financial statements: 85% of our funds go directly to the program, 7% go for fundraising 8% go toward administration.

Please consider a gift to Children of the Night.  I simply cannot rescue America’s children from the ravages of prostitution without your help.

By August this year, we were able to rescue more American children from prostitution than in the past several years.  We were able to surpass our goals this year because generous gifts made it possible! 

SALUTATION, the number of children we can rescue from the mean streets is directly related to the amount of funds we raise each year.  Everyone on staff has direct child care responsibilities.  And we work hard just to get our children through each day. 

Children of the Night does not have a savings account, real estate investments or stock.  While we would like to establish funds to secure the future of Children of the Night, RIGHT NOW we need to keep our doors open and make all 24 beds available to children who need our services.

For many children we are their first loving home and whether we can provide a home to 6 children or 24 children each day is up to very special people, like you, who give us the resources to make our work possible. 

There are no government funds to help this special group of children so KNOW your gift counts—sometimes in the life and death of these desperate children.
